WHO
I have always struggled to find a definitive answer to the questions, "Who are you? What do you do in life?" I've always had many interests and passions, and trying to squeeze them into a neat, concise answer has always felt like a constraint - a small act of violence that flattens the complexity of who I am.Over the years, I've come to realize that perhaps the best way to introduce myself is to start here: writing has always been my primary means of expression. I started writing poetry when I was six years old, performing my verses for friends and family from the top of the stairs in the house where I grew up, as if it were a stage. As I grew older, my styles and formats evolved, but my irresistible attraction to pen and paper never faded. As my social and political awareness deepened, my writing became inextricably linked to the urgency of offering a way of interpreting the world and society - one that sparks questions and critical thinking. And so here I am. With an academic background in political science and political anthropology, I work as an independent journalist and contributor, writing reports, opinion pieces, and analysis on socio-political issues with a strong focus on accessibility, both in content and language.I am also a proud working class professional. Low-income, doing whatever it takes to get by - and yes, that means taking all sorts of temporary jobs. No shame here, just the reality of surviving under capitalism while fighting to change it.
WHY
Since we live in stories, there's no change until we change the stories.I believe that the way we tell stories shapes how we see the world - it can perpetuate and reinforce power structures, or it can challenge and dismantle them. As a journalist and communicator, I have always been drawn to the kind of storytelling that disrupts dominant narratives, amplifies marginalized voices and demands accountability from those in power. My approach is not just about reporting facts; it's about ensuring that the right stories are told in a way that is accessible, relatable, and serves as a catalyst for collective action and change.
WHAT
I focus on specific issues that often intersect and complement each other. I frequently write about migration and systemic racism, workers’ rights, transfeminism, non-Western feminisms, and decoloniality.I have studied the Palestinian question extensively and had the privilege of visiting the West Bank in 2019. It’s a topic I write about often and with deep passion, approaching it from a feminist and decolonial perspective.Rooted in a commitment to justice and equity, I combine research, storytelling, and movement-building experience to amplify voices that often go unheard.
WHAT'S NEXT?
I'm looking for new collaborations, especially with independent outlets that publish in English or bilingually (Italian/English).
I'm designing a writing workshop focused on the collective exploration of borders, both physical and symbolic.
I'm working on the launch of my newsletter.
